Graffiti, no matter how old, is quite messy.

That works well for messy and I think is actually beautiful in its own way.

It’s interesting to look at graffiti as long as it isn’t too vulgar. Some of it is pretty in art but some of it can be downright messy. Great post!!

A search with Google reveals the claim that Wad Wallace was a soldier in the civil war hiding out in the cave.

1868? Wow!
That’s actually kind of cool, aside from the fact that it’s graffiti.
And I got a kick out of the fact that his name was “Wad.”
LOL.
If my name was “Wad,” I don’t think I’d be writing it anywhere. :)

My photo hunts include road construction, a bad restaurant, and a driveway full of snow.

Very cool photo! I always begged my parents to take me there — I am still waiting. I might have to take them.

that graffiti in your photo looks cool to me… but the “modern” graffiti is really messy… and irritating!

Some graffiti have turned into art at some point, although it’s never good.

i have to agree with you on this. i dislike graffiti. definitely messes up the place :P

Very interesting take on the theme. I would have never thought of graffti as messy.

Very interesting point. I’ve always been tolerant of old graffiti (because of some vague idea of historic value), but in reality it’s no better than anything recent.
