I found my missing post — and lost my archive
And this is ALL GOOD!
Remember a few weeks ago, when I posted that I was not off to a good start because I’d managed to delete my first WordPress post?
Well, I “lost” it by accidentally changing its timestamp to “January 200.” I knew I’d done this, but couldn’t find the post ANYWHERE.
A few days later, I noticed that I had an archive for “January 200.” When I searched for posts from “January 200″ there WEREN’T any. Tonight after e-mailing back and forth with Jared, who asked a few questions and looked at a few bits of code, he determined I must have a “funky” date somewhere. I thought so, too, but couldn’t figure out where. So… after changing the number of posts I could see to 200 (sorry to anyone who was trying to look at my blog 30 minutes or so ago), I found two posts with dates of 1969.
Apparently, WordPress decided that by “January 200″ I really meant “January 1969.” (Maybe it’s the last Y2K bug?)
Anyway, one of the 1969 posts was my Welcome to Ramblings by Reba post. So it’s back! WHOO HOO! The other was a test post, which I have deleted.
I feel like such a newbie. I mean, I AM a newbie, but…
It’s now after midnight, and I’m both pooped and freakishly wired. My husband, who usually keeps a bedroom light on for me when he goes to bed before I do, has given up on me. I will travel to bed in darkness. (I guess reading in bed is out of the question tonight.)
But the problem is fixed, so I can rest easy. When, of course, I’m finally able to fall asleep. So, again, thank you, Jared, for all your time.
The moral of this story? Be careful when changing the timestamp on a post. If you’re not careful, you might end up back in the 1960s.
And this probably isn’t a good thing. There wasn’t the Internet in the 60s, for one thing.
Or maybe it would be a GOOD thing, then. Hmmm…

Glad I could help. That happened to me once also. I think that just about any really weird date that would be early shows up as 1969. I think it probably has something to do with the database.

I have NO idea why it does that. I suspect it’s something in my sidebar template, but I couldn’t tell you what. (I wonder what would happen, if I moved it to lower in the sidebar?)

Your style sheet probably defines pictures as having a border. You can overide them locally sometimes.
