So, I’ve been seeing banners like these all over the blogosphere. The folks at 5 Minutes for Mom are hosting the Ultimate Blog Party. I’m not exactly sure what they do over there, but I do know the site is not just for moms. In fact, they use the term “‘Mom’ to include everyone who loves children and is interested in the types of things that generally interest moms.” Does that sound like me? I am SO IN!
Oh my. Where are my manners? What would everyone like to drink?
Now, as I mentioned yesterday I’ve amassed a small but loyal group of readers over the last few months. But I know that most of you don’t know me in real life. I’d been thinking about offering “formal” introductions, and now seems to be the perfect time. WHOO HOO!
For those of you who DO know me, you can skip the next few paragraphs. For the rest of you…
My name is Rebecca. My birthday is March 17, and I’ll be one-third of a century old on my next birthday, which is just AFTER this big bash, darn it all. I am an editor. I also LOVE photography.
My husband is Ed. We live in the Atlanta area.
We met at the dog park, and have been married almost 2 years.
Speaking of the dog park, we have two dogs. Toby is my dog of origin. He’s a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Fox is Ed’s dog of origin. He’s a terrier, Dachshund, Corgi mix. (I think he has a few other breeds in him, but that’s a LOT of links in a row. :) ) You can learn more about how we got our dogs here, if you’re interested. (I see some of you nodding off in your delicious snacks, so I’ll spare you all the details.)
I also brought two cats to the marriage. Autumn and Asbury are litter-mates. I adopted them when they were 10 weeks old. They were feral, but you’d never know it now, except they’re scared of strangers.
So what else do you want to know? Feel free to leave me a question, and I’ll do my best to answer it.

(9:25 a.m.: I think the throngs of party-goers have “trashed” 5 Minutes for Mom. I cannot access the Web site, but Ed says it “pings” o.k., whatever that means. I’ll keep trying, because I know you’re just dying to party hop. ;) )
(12:25 p.m.: A note at 5MfM.com says they’re working on the problem. They’re going to announce a new start time for the party once they get everything fixed. We’re partying unofficially! Girls just wanna have fun, apparently.)
(1:51 p.m.: They’re back! Party, party, party!)

Nice to meet you. My name is Lou. On September the 8th I will be 63. I have no idea how that number got to be sooo big, sooo fast. I have three sons, the youngest of which, who is still in high school, is the official family pet. He’s tame, though. It’s the older two that are feral. Annie is the ringmaster around our place - lovingly referred to as SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed). She’ll be 49 this year. Don’t tell her I told you.

Thanks for sharing the info about yourself. We have adopted eight cats, but live in the country so they are not all house cats. My husband and I met while I was out walking my dogs ( he lived across the road). I’d love a drink and I’m glad I stopped in.
