Why you won’t be reading about our walking to the top of Amicalola Falls — today anyway

You know when you have a really good idea for a blog entry, but you just can’t get it together? This is happening to me today. I wanted to write about our walk up to the top of Amicalola Falls and back. I have all the pictures. And all the data. But the creative juices I need to actually WRITE the entry are in short supply.

You tell me. Would you like to hear the back story of these photos?

Must. Rest.

Made it.

Where we were...

Then we had to go back down...

175 steps up

175 steps

Actually, I may have just shown you the story.

Hmmm…

Wow! those are amazing photos :) And quite a lot of steps! So did you wander off the trails? Those signs are a bit frightening :S

Thanks, Sandy! I was still “feeling” those steps yesterday… today a little bit, too. :)

The farthest I wandered off the trail was 5 inches or so to take this picture. :)

I’ve gotta say, I’m jealous. This is the second post I’ve seen this morning that includes someone’s spring outing pictures :)

It’s just getting to be spring here… even in Georgia. Where do you live?

I have to agree with Stefanie. I am jealous since we have had snow falling most of the day here in southern Michigan.

Hang in there. Spring will come. :)

The photos are great and all, but YES I STILL WANT THE STORY!

    You got it here. :)

Wow! I think that sign with the words “fatalities” and “injuries” would have scared me off!! I still want the story though :)

Back in the olden days, in 1976 or so, my husband climbed to the top of the falls hand over hand. There weren’t steps then. And yes, it was dangerous, but they allowed it! (Back in 1976 I was 1, by the way. He was 22. :) ) I’ve told the story here — in haiku.

LOL - looks like you don’t want to wander off the trail :D
And yes, it sort of shows the story - tell us, nonetheless :)!!
