Ed and I went hiking yesterday. On the way home, I listened to part of the Braves game, the first game I’d listened to or watched this season.
The title of this post indicates the number of Dodgers’ names I recognized compared with the number of Braves’ names I recognized. Two of the five Dodgers I recognized are former Braves (Rafael Furcal and Andruw Jones). Three of the five Braves I recognized are people who have played elsewhere in the majors for much of their careers. The fourth (Chipper Jones) has been in the Braves organization for well over a dozen years. The fifth (Brian McCann) has been with the Braves for a few years. I think. I also think he came up in their farm system, but I’m not sure.
See what I meant when I said that if I listened to a game these days I wouldn’t know if the Braves announcers were talking about a Braves’ player or an opponent’s? I still find this sad. Sigh…
