Do you see any extra letters in this sign? This photo won’t win me any awards, but as an editor I’m always amused by typos in signs. I found this one Tuesday of this week at a restaurant my husband and I were eating at with our extended family.

Marylins last blog post..I need some Ku inspiration!
:)
My mom and I play a game, where we watch for, and report back on, crazy signs like this. We once saw a sign for “Wheelbarrels for rent.” Another time, I saw a sign in a hair salon window, which read, “Shampoo and conditioner…$9.99 each or 2 for $20.” Ummmm. I’ll take two for $9.99 each.
I came across a blog one time that had photos of a whole bunch of these kinds of things listed. Some were so hilarious.
Of course now that I know you are an editor, I will be paranoid about every comment I have posted and if I used proper spelling and punctuation. (grin)
I make as many typos as does the next person. :) And your stories about crazy signs are FUNNY!
My pet hate! I can’t stand badly spelt signs!! Good choice for the week.

Thanks so much! :)

heh. Funny. At first glance I read it correctly and didn’t see the extra letter until I read the post. I used to be a great speller until two things happen: I took Spanish in college and I married a horrible speller. :)

I had to look at it a couple of times, too. :)
I’m often AMAZED at the kinds of ‘errors’ that show up in signs … and ‘wonder’ about the folks who don’t seem bothered by it.
I’m ‘playing’ for the very 1st time this week with a sign I’ve shared previously … but is fun to revisit periodically ;–)
Hugs and blessings,

I often “recycle” photos. :)
Good catch… unfortunately misspellings are everywhere these days… everywhere.

Indeed they are… kinda sad…
That’s a great find. Reminds me of a misspelled word on a school sign that I saw earlier in the week. Egads!
Thanks for visiting today and have a great Saturday!

Misspellings on school signs make me CRAZY!
Mis-spellings always crack me up especially when they are published!!

Published ones make me cringe. (I am an editor, after all. ;) )
Maybe they wanted to write “No extra checkers”?
Maybe so, but I doubt it. :(
I have raised a whole family of grammar & spelling police…and I’m proud of it!
WHOO HOO! And I’m proud of it for you!
Ha Ha! Someone either needs spellcheck or need to return to school ;) Great sign for this weeks theme!

Thanks, Sandy. (Yes, I’m running a little behind on my comment responding.)
Now, just what should I do with this extra letter??

Heheh…
I’m not perfect but signs like that, in public, bug me.
Today I saw a doozy: a banner for a Christian school had the word “Christian” misspelled. Oops.
