Weekly Winners: April 19-April 25

The last two weeks, I’ve had “big” Saturday photo opportunities. Therefore, I have “shifted” the dates of my photo week this week, and will next week, too, so I’m not up all night on Saturday editing. :)

Last Saturday, Ed and I went to DeSoto Falls and to Brasstown Bald. (The latter is the highest point in Georgia.) On our way home, we happened by a church more than 600 pinwheels in the front yard. It was about 6:45 p.m., and the sun was low in the sky. It was BEAUTIFUL.

This is the only shot from DeSoto Falls that made the final cut. I shot “under” a tree root to photograph the wildflowers.

This is what I looked like after taking the series of tree root photos while prostrate. :)

At the top of Brasstown Bald…

Pinwheels for Prevention. More information about the program can be found here.

Besides Saturday, I didn’t pick up the camera for much besides the Photo Hunt. It was a weird week. :)

Thanks so much, Marylin. Do you know that root (from the first pic) is no more than 4 inches off the ground? When I said I was prostrate, I meant PROSTRATE! :)

Those are just amazing. Really breathtaking. And the pinwheels with some stopped and some not is gorgeous. I really love these. And the one you linked to with your arms all dirty is cool, too, because that shot is so worth it!

  21. By Lacey on Apr 28, 2008

Beautiful photos! I love the first one- way to get dirty for the shot. I also really like the pinwheels. I shot a pinwheel today but it just didn’t feel like spinning. Yours are most definitely cooler!

Thanks so much, Lacey! I love that first shot more and more each time I see it. There’s just so much to LOOK at! Pinwheels ARE more fun when they’re spinning, aren’t they.

  22. By Gabriel on Apr 28, 2008

Loved your pictures! And you have one of the best blog designs. I love it.

I’m working on my “How I met my honey” post. It’s coming!

Gabriels last blog post..Where were you? - #04

Thank you, Gabriel. As for the blog design, it’s a WordPress.org design. The only thing I “customized” was the header… But thank you. I’m fairly fond of it, as well.
