Our second anniversary
The truly great thing about us — and I meant this sincerely — is that it doesn’t take much to make us happy. :)
As I mentioned Monday, I was having a little trouble deciding on a present for Ed. After seeing Ed’s present for me — some new underwear, a sleeveless t-shirt (both cotton, the traditional gift for 2nd anniversaries), and some Jelly Bellies — I know what he’s getting. :)
We went to IHOP for dinner, which was lovely. We talked about the wedding, the wedding night, and the day after the wedding (when we went to IHOP for breakfast with our families, by the way). I wondered aloud if we’d still be talking about those days ten years from now, on our 12th anniversary. Ed says he hopes will. I do, too. I know we’ll be married… it’s just a matter of if we’ll still be this “goopy.” :)
Before we got married, I told him I expected 40 years of marriage out of him. (He’ll be 91 in 2046.) Two years down, 38 to go… and that won’t be enough years for me.
