Shots from Callaway Gardens and a festival last Sunday.
Butterflies in the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center…
Gorgeous flowers in Mr. Cason’s Vegetable Garden…
At the John A. Sibley Horticultural Center…
In the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel…
In the Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl…
This one is freakishly overexposed, but I LOVE it.
And at a festival last Sunday…
These kittens. (Read their story here.)
This Father Goose, keeping watch over Mother Goose, who was keeping her eggs warm.
He was serious about his duties. I don’t know that this is a particularly “winning” photo, but I love it.

BEAUTIFUL, as always!
Missys last blog post..Camping in the Living Room
Thanks so much, Missy! :)
Absolutely beautiful! How do you get yor pictures to be so crisp? I wanna know your secrets!!
Marylins last blog post..Weekly Winners #20!
Hi, Marylin. Thanks so much. :)
As to the crispness, it’s a combination of things, I think. First, since I don’t have any kids to interrupt my photo-taking, most of the time, I can take a zillion shots if I need to. :) Second, most of the time these days, I use manual focus, so I can “hone in” on exactly what I want to. This is easier to do since a) I don’t have kids (see my first point) and b) at least most of the time, I’m not trying to photograph the moving targets that kids are. :) Third, I have a fairly steady hand, which helps I guess.
Also, re: the manual focus, practice, practice, practice… I’m getting to the point where I CAN “shoot” moving targets and manually focus at the same time, with a fairly good success rate.
More than you wanted to know? ;)
Thanks again for the compliments.
The Chapel. The Chapel is my FAVORITE!!! Your photography rocks.
Secret Agent Mamas last blog post..Weekly Winners XXV
Thank you! I could have spent all day in there taking photographs. One day, I just might. :)
Those first few photos just blew me away. Amazing! Happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you so much! Happy Mother’s Day to you, too! :)
Oh my goodness!!! That little kitten is so adorable! Not sure if I should go read the story. Is it a sad one because I won’t be able to handle it?
I really love the photo of the waterfall too. Just beautiful!!
Karen of Sillymonkeezs last blog post..MommyFest 2008 Blog Party!
Karen, it’s a happy story… Well, it started out sad, but it’s happy. I promise! :)
And thanks for the compliments. :)
I love them all! You have such an eye for detail. :)
That kitten picture rocks…it’s so touchable and just so, um, cute (for lack of a better word!)
I’ll try to get in on the wedding stories blog carnival…we’ll see! If I do miss out I’ll still be tuning in to read yours. :)
Thank you, Laura! I’ve always had an “eye for detail” in my professional life, but didn’t know until fairly recently that it carried over to anything creative. I was glad to learn this. :)
I hope you’ll be able to do the wedding stories carnival, but I understand if you can’t. You’re working hard finishing the work of growing Carly. :)
Can you share some of your talent with me please? Your photos are amazing, all of them. The butterflies are my favorites this week!
Amys last blog post..Weekly Winners

These are all fabulous photos but I especially love the colourful stained glass or the kitten one is adorable and the butterflies are pretty amazing too… I can’t choose!
Ha! I love all of those, too. I guess that’s why we post more than one picture. :) Thanks for the compliment!
I love, love, LOVE the butterfly shots! Really gorgeous.

Stunning, Rebecca… that cathedral is amazing, but that little kitten is priceless!
Thanks so much, Karen. That kitten reminds me of the old posters with a kitten saying “Hang in there.” Or am I the only one?
