52 Nights Unplugged?
So what do you think about this project? I think it’s a brilliant idea. And the thought of a quiet evening each week appeals to me quite a lot. I just need to figure out which night each week to do it — or not to do it — depending on your point of view and on what your definition of “it” is.
And yes (ironically), there is a social networking site for the project. You can find it here.

Sorry, Reba. I committed to blog365 and I’m sticking to it. Although I might blog ahead a day or two - or blog from behind - a day or two. But I’ve done this for 134 days now and I am bound and determined to make it all the way.

Me, too… and I intend to stick with Blog 365. The beauty of this plan is that it’s one EVENING a week… So for me there wouldn’t be any interruption in Blog 365. My post just might show up a little later than usual the morning after my “unplugged” night.
I’ve not decided for sure if I’m going to do it. My husband isn’t interested, which would mean we’d be in separate rooms all evening (no t.v. either, at least for me). But, as I said, the idea is really appealing to me. Think of all the READING I could do… of an actual BOOK!

That looks like a VERY good idea! Something I’d thought of doing anyway. The hardest part will be the no TV part of it, too. I mean, I always have one or the other on…but I’d still like to think I could do it. I might be able to convince hubby too :)
Sadie, I would love the QUIET! :) Let me know if you convince your husband. :)

I really should do this. I’ve become too addicted to my blogs and my shows on TV! Our DVR is constantly nearly full and I multitask to the point of near insanity so I won’t miss anything!
I’m one who’s REALLY bad at picking a particular day to do something (which is why I don’t make up meal plans) but maybe I’ll randomly pick a day out of each week for it. I’m sure I’d be surprised at what I learn/do with my kids/accomplish!
Great idea!
I hate it when “fun” things start to be “un-fun.” Insanity over hobbies is definitely no fun. :(

We already unhooked our tv (satellite) but I don’t know if we could handle unhooking the internet too - even for one night lol. We do love being tv free, it seems like there is so much more to do in life when it’s unhooked and you wonder how in the world you had so much time to watch tv in the first place.

I could live without the cable t.v., but I don’t think I’d EVER convince my husband to do it. :(

I’ve noticed that my 8 year old has traded the TV for the computer. I guess a screen is a screen. It’s definitely a good idea and one that should be enforced more often than not.
It is ironic that, especially with the internet, one is usually interacting with faceless folks in the computer, while a live human being (or 3 or 4) are sitting in the other room, not interacting with each other, either.
If I had more energy I would jump on this project ASAP. Good luck!

When I was a kid, we had limited t.v. time (at least sporadically). I hated it at the time, but it was a good idea. I need to enforce limited computer time for myself. :)
