Geese have always scared me since one bit me when I was a toddler, I’m OK if they’re just minding their own business, but if they come over to me i completely freak out!
They mind their own business, but because they live at a park, they’re used to people. So they probably get a little closer than you’d like.
LOL! We had a goose once, but he thought he was the only one who should live here on Pollywog Creek and he didn’t mind letting us know it, either. We gave him to a neighbor around the holidays one year and I think he became their dinner.
Thanks for stopping by the creek, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
cool catch! great choice for this week theme… the degree of one’s emotions varies inversely with one’s knowledge of the facts… mine’s up too hope you can drop by…

Well he doesn’t look happy! LOL
He was unhappy. He was hissing up a storm.
It’s like saying “Go away before I get the broom!!!”
YUP!

I’m thinking she’s trying to protect her babies… maternal instincts even in a goose :)
That is precisely what she’s doing. :) It could be a male. They can hiss up a storm, too. :)
lol maybe its saying, “don’t let that dog near me!”
that’s fab =)
Thanks, Kaycee! And that’s precisely what it’s saying!
That’s what I would say, too. She’s likely saying, “Back off humans, these goslings are MINE!
“Unless you have some yummy bread crumbs and then, we’ll talk.” lol
Karen, that sounds just about right.
Cute..love it
Thank you, Sandy!

Oh dear. Poor goose. (Or not.)
Lol… not sure but it looks like the puppy is paying attention ;-) Great shot!
Yeah, I don’t think the dog was too happy. And the humans stood stock still until the geese had passed.
Geese usually are always bad tempered, so for me the goose here is furious !
Yeah, that goose was UNhappy.
She could be saying, “Hey, can I get a break here? These kids are driving me crazy!”
Here from NCLM
I hadn’t thought of that theory. I think it’s a good one. The “kids” looked like teenagers of the goose world!
Wow - I didn’t know geese had emotions. Cute picture!
Thanks, Kelley!
I think the Goose is telling the lady she better keep that dog and man away from her chicks.
Trust me. That’s exactly what they’re saying!
LOL! Love the shot.
Geese are just incredibly arrogant aren’t they?!
Thanks, Jenty! They really are arrogant… but I understand when they’re trying to protect the babies among them.
From personal experience I’d say the emotion is anger…for sure! Thanks for stopping by…
He was not a happy goose. That’s for sure!

Thanks! :)
Wow! I don’t get to see geese often here in Australia - but we do have some black swans down by the local lake. :)
And I don’t often see black swans. :)
Jazz is scared of geese. This is why. :)
That would certainly do it. :)
I’d want to get away from that guy!
Yeah, it definitely wouldn’t have been smart to get too close. :)
Whoa! great shot :) I’d definitely say, anger. Like “get the heck outta here!” kind of anger.
Thanks, Sandy. He (or she) definitely voted “no” on our messing with the babies. Not that we were going to, but you know what I mean.
Looks like a mama warning strangers to stay away from her babies! NCLM
Precisely! :)
Maybe she was interrupted mid-geese dropping? Haha.
That’s not something I’d considered, but I think you may be onto something here. :)
Take that crazy green bird eater on your arm and back up outta here, lady! I’m on to you and I will Beat.Your.A$$!!
Or maybe just warning the little ones. :-)
Visiting from NCLM
I think your first theory is correct. These were funny to make from words into “pictures in my mind.” Thank you! :)
Looks like a Canadian goose - ornery creatures at their best ;-)
Have a great weekend!
Ornery is right. But they’re so CUTE as babies! :)
Don’t know about him, but he gave me a chuckle.
Thanks, Katney. I’m glad. :)
