Weekly Winners: July 11-July 19
The last two weekends, Ed and I (and yesterday Toby) made our annual trip to visit friends at Camp. I am learning that I’m better at photographing inanimate objects than, say, children who move constantly. :) But I’m getting better at it (not many opportunities to practice when you don’t have kids of your own), and I think I got a representative sample of life with my friends. Also as is traditional, I got many more photos (good, bad, or otherwise) of the younger children.
Before the camp photos, two pictures I took last weekend at a butterfly release where Ed and I visited my photo.
Shy smile for Daddy.
Sun flower.
I was having a bit of trouble with my camera (noise filter that was “off” not “on,” etc.), but I LOVE the expression on Youngest Daughter’s face. :)
Buzzzzzz.
Fun self-portrait
Camp flower.
Roof of the youth tabernacle, but it reminds me of a horse farm’s roof.
Kool-Aid cups. (By the end of the week, all the adults were fairly SICK of grape Kool-Aid.)
Music maker
A l(otter) fun on the way home from Camp late Monday.
Ahhh…
The middle two children. (No, I didn’t ask them to pose identically, but I think it’s FUN that they did.)
Second-born and last-born.
Youngest, second-oldest and oldest.

Mirror photo.
It was a fun two weekends. Our friends are heading home today or tomorrow. We probably won’t see them until next year at Camp. I’m already looking forward to our next visit, whenever that may be.

Aw, those are gorgeous and fun! Looks like a beautiful place and adorable kids. The last is awesome! Are they family or just friends?

Hi, Maggie! :) I love that last shot, too.
That family is not technically related to me by blood. But I’m related in every other way (if that makes any sense).

Thank you! :)

What a nice collection of pictures. Actually I think you did great with the kids. They are tougher to take, unless they are at the age that they love to pose like models!! lol
–Second Youngest is definitely into posing like a model. I have my share of those off her, too… and of her silly faces. :)

That is a really great shot of the Dad taking a picture - very unique, eps. because you can see him cropping almost the same picture differently.
I also like “music maker” and the photo with the bridge. Beautiful work!

These are all beautiful. I’m glad you spent time with friends. I agree: it’s hard to take photos of small kids, because they are constantly moving!

I think you are a wonderful photographer of inanimate subjects and people, too…espcially children. You really do great pictures. What kind of camera do you use?
I realize now that you are not my cousin, Becki. That was so funny to me to find your email and not know who it was from. She had been setting up differnt things, like a save the stuff where we swap things, and a blog, and several other things. I’m very glad to be able to get to know you if only through your photos. Thanks for stopping by my little blog.

Nice pictures…the kool-aid cup one is a shade Jonestown-ish, but that’s probably just my morbid sense of humor. Love that pink flower and the otter.
::: shaking head ::: about the Jonestown-ish nature. :) I appreciate the compliments. :)
