Thursday afternoon, my dad called to tell me that his friends Larry and Birdie had just spent 45 minutes or so visiting with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew.
Larry and Birdie are from North Carolina, but drive trucks for FedEx. My sister and her family live in Montana. Until today, when Larry and Birdie had a “run” through Montana near my sister’s family’s home, they’d never met. I don’t think they’d ever SPOKEN to each other.
However, Larry and Birdie were among the first to know my sister was pregnant. They were also among the first to know my nephew had been born almost nine weeks early.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t envious that Larry and Birdie got to see Francis when it’s been almost two years since I last saw him.

(My nephew and me in September 2006)
But I’m glad there are people who love him and my sister and my brother-in-law and can love on them a bit if I can’t be there to do it myself.
But I miss being able to watch my nephew grow up.

Go see. If there is ANY way to do it. You’ll spend the rest of life regretting that you did not do it, if there is a way you can.

We do need to go out there. Perhaps next spring… although they think they may get out HERE next spring. Yay!
Sounds to me like it’s time for a long weekend in Montana!
