When I went to the photography seminar given by Larry Winslett, he told us about a seminar he’s conducting in Taos, New Mexico, in June of next year. I’d read a blog post about Great Sand Dunes National Park at Lisa’s Chaos a few months ago, so when Larry told us the trip would include a day there I started to drool. Almost literally.
Information about the trip came out Wednesday. The “tuition” is reasonable, $400 for a week-long seminar. Then I looked up the airfare. From Atlanta the fare would be about $550.
So I was thinking, “I should just go visit my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. It couldn’t be much more expensive.”
The flight to Montana? It’s $850.
I don’t think we can afford either trip, especially adding hotel and at least some spending money to the photography trip. But I want to go. To both.
Badly.
Do you think I could get away with leaving Ed at home and do the photography trip? If it’s just one of us going, it will be a relative bargain! ;)

That does sound like a great price and loads of fun! Maybe you could sneak away and he just wouldn’t miss you for a few days? I hope you get to go! Fingers crossed!

I say that you tell Ed to clean the garage again and then slip off to the airport while he’s buried in there! ~LOL~
Don’t they say that ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder’? Is that NOT what they say? On the other hand, just who are ‘THEY’ anyway? And is that a philosophical question? Or just rhetorical? And what the heck am I rambling on about? Coffee. I need coffee. I’ll see ya’ later. Gotta go find me some Joe.

I say do it! If it’s only for a few days and you get some great learning experience you should jump on it!
Sorry Ed! My vote is to do the trip alone. You’ll probably learn a LOT and be thankful for doing it later!
Hey girl! Did you know that Taos is where I am from? If you have a chance to go there - do! It is beautiful!!! I miss it everyday - but at least get to go home once a year to see dear old mum and dad! Anyway, what a small world!
