An envelope addressed to Fox was in today’s mail.
Inside was this card.
Here’s Fox “reading” it.
Abby is the dog with whom he got into a fight last weekend.
I thought it was SO sweet of Abby’s human to send it. Warmed the cockles of my heart, it did.
As for Fox, he’s feeling SO MUCH better. Monday was probably his worst day. Ed took him for a 1/4 mile walk on Tuesday to get him some fresh air if nothing else. Fox was so excited. They’ve gone for walks (much longer than 1/4 mile) every day since. About the only normal thing Fox hasn’t done again is chase one of our cats. :) Ed thinks he’s 80% recovered. I think he’s more recovered than that, but Ed knows him much better than I do. :)
Ed’s pretty much recovered emotionally (80% he says, same as Fox). I’m not as far along. Ed doesn’t remember much of the actual fight. I, on the other hand, had to watch one of my dogs screaming in pain AND watch my husband screaming at Abby and wrestling Abby and crying about Fox right after the fight (before I picked up Fox and got him out of danger). I worried about Fox because I was afraid he might be really seriously hurt and/or killed. Even worse, I worried that Ed might be seriously hurt, because he was fighting with a Husky mix who weighed at least 60 pounds. At one point I SCREAMED at Ed to get out of the fight, because of that fear. (Ed says Abby didn’t show ANY aggression toward him whatsoever, by the way.) In the first few days after the fight, I kept playing it over and over and over again, wondering if the dogs would have stopped fighting if Ed hadn’t gotten involved. And, yes, I wondered if Abby would have killed Fox if Ed hadn’t gotten involved.
So no, I’m not all the way better yet. But Fox is almost there, and that’s helping me get there, too.
What’s ironic is that Ed gave me a (mainly joking) hard time early last week for featuring Toby in my blog more than Fox. We’ll see if he says something like THAT again. ;) Anyhoo… here’s another photo of Fox “reading” his card for good measure.
Awwww…

Oh my gosh. The sweetest. thing. ever. You are so cute. Hope Fox is feeling better soon. What a sweetie pie. Also hope you are more OK soon, too. Definitely traumatizing, no doubt.
Seriously, that is the most wonderful thing. It will take some time to get over the attack. I remember fighting off a pit bull from my old cranky Basset Hound, I had nightmares for weeks. But the pit bulls owners weren’t nearly as kind!
Possibly one of the nicest things I’ve heard of a human doing after a dog fight! I’ve not had such luck in the past. So happy to hear everyone is slowly recovering, both physically and emotionally. I love the card and love that Fox is well enough to read it :)
Is Abby owned by the longest-running coworker we ever had? Very classy of I.E.~

That is hilarious and sooooooooo sweet. I love your pics! :)
Glad all are healed (healing). :)
I am glad your dog is getting better. My two dogs are best friends and weirdly enough they went after each other recently. It was very emotional for all of us. I stepped on one of their toes and it set it off. Go figure. I had to separate them and they are healing, but it is so hard. They are back to being buds like nothing happened. I was a complete wreck!
