I’ve been dreading shopping for Ed, not because I don’t love Ed and want to make his Christmas happy. I’ve been dreading the traffic, the crowd, the stress.
Today was the day, and I headed to Target at lunch. I pulled around the building and someone pulled out of a really good parking space, the second [...]
After Wednesday, both my parents will be retired.
My dad retired back in June. (He was a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 40 years.)
Today, my mom’s employer had a reception in honor of her 18 years with the company.
Mom requested strawberry shortcake.
So strawberry shortcake it was.
The shortcake was yummola, but the best part was [...]
This is the winter photo of the four seasons series, taken today, the first day of winter.
I started this project in the spring of 2008. I’ve enjoyed seeing how the same two trees looked in all four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and, today, winter.
I plan to keep shooting this scene each season. It’s amazing to [...]
Today, Ed and I were supposed to go photograph Joseph, who is now four months old. However, at 7 a.m. Jamie called to tell us that her husband Jeffrey was in the midst of an emergency appendectomy.
Apparently, he’s expected to be o.k., but I know they’d appreciate your prayers.
When I bought my house in 2005, I used the loan guy recommended by my Realtor.
With interest rates dropping, dropping, dropping, we decided now would be a good time to consider refinancing the loan on the house that Ed and I own — the house Ed bought and that we live in.
Long story short, we’re [...]
I’ve been in a bit of funk lately.
I’ve not wanted to do much of anything recently, including take photos. And some of my blog posts DEFINITELY show this lack of interest.
Life stuff and the weather (many more days of gray than sunshine over the last few weeks, not to mention the really short days) have [...]
Ed and I don’t have children. And all of my cousins are nearly grown. (The youngest will be 16 in March.) So, Christmas is suddenly a fairly understated affair for me and mine.
But I do have one nephew, Francis. For better or for worse, I find myself getting him stuff I liked as a child. [...]
I’m taking vacation the week after Christmas. I just. can’t. wait.
We’re going to hang out at home with a few day trips perhaps.
But mostly? I’m going to r-e-s-t.
Did I mention? I. just. can’t. wait.
And that’s about all I have to say about that. :)
As Lou pointed out in his post today, not long now until the end of this crazy posting 365 days in 2008 thing.
And I’m GLAD. For someone who at the end of JUNE gave herself permission to quit Blog 365, I’ve not done so well at quitting, have I?
It’s going to be WEIRD not “having” [...]
I did a review of an iPhone/iPod Touch stylus for Blissfully Domestic. The company is giving one away to a reader. Go see my review and sign up for the chance to be the winner! :)
And, no, I didn’t get to Weekly Winners this week. Heavy sigh…
