After Wednesday, both my parents will be retired.
My dad retired back in June. (He was a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 40 years.)
Today, my mom’s employer had a reception in honor of her 18 years with the company.

Today, Ed and I were supposed to go photograph Joseph, who is now four months old. However, at 7 a.m. Jamie called to tell us that her husband Jeffrey was in the midst of an emergency appendectomy.
Apparently, he’s expected to be o.k., but I know they’d appreciate your prayers.

Ed and I don’t have children. And all of my cousins are nearly grown. (The youngest will be 16 in March.) So, Christmas is suddenly a fairly understated affair for me and mine.

I’m taking vacation the week after Christmas. I just. can’t. wait.
