Cold, cold everywhere

The high today in Atlanta was between 30 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on where you were and who you asked. The low was somewhere between 6 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit, again depending on where you were and who you asked. :)

Days this cold in Atlanta are RARE! A couple of school systems closed today because of concerns about kids standing outside waiting for the bus, a bus that might not come because it wouldn’t start. Having gone to college in Kentucky during years with some REALLY cold weather (colder than today’s weather, but for DAYS on end), I scoffed at people’s “wimpyness.” Then I went out this morning and felt fairly sheepish.

This is me eating lunch in my car.

(This is my “I’m concentrating in order to get the camera to work” face. Isn’t it attractive?)

I was under a down sleeping bag, so the rest of me was toasty, but my hands were COLD! See how red they are?

Ed took the dogs for a walk very late this morning. Note Toby’s sweater. :)

Toby doesn’t fit into his sweater as well as he used to, so he hung out in it until I got home and took it off him. I caught Toby mid-yawn.

(Fox is a manly dog and doesn’t wear a sweater unless it gets below 20.)

Highs tomorrow and Sunday will be in the mid 40s. I plan to break out the shorts and tank tops.

Isn’t it just amazing how cold it’s been? Our high was around 2 degrees (with wind chill it was close to 20 below) yesterday and the schools were in session. I thought that was ridiculous. Glad you’re keeping warm and toasty!

You know, we could be on a same wavelength. While you were commenting on my blog, I was posting a picture of my hand, for different reasons. We both had a weather topic, too.

Brrr. I’m about to make some cocoa. Want some? At the very least, it’ll keep those hands warm!

This winter has been brutal. I can SO ready for Spring already.

Although this weekend it’s going to be a scorcher! 26F degrees! Woohoo!

Why were you eating lunch in your car???

We had schools delay in Alabama too. I laughed. A lot. The Yankee in me does not understand that.
