A REAL pain in his neck

Fox is hurt.

Again.

He was in the fight in November. At the beginning of January, we thought he’d pulled a muscle, but he recovered after a few days, so we never took him to the vet.

Yesterday he started moving slowly again, and Ed said he was worse by late this afternoon, so we took him to the vet this evening.

The vet thinks he has a slightly bulging disc, and his neck is KILLING him. It could be related somehow to the fight, or maybe it’s not.

The photo above is that of a VERY doped-up puppy.

He can’t exercise any for the next two weeks (just quick trips to the backyard for him to do his business), and we’ll need to crate him when we’re gone. Once he starts feeling a bit better, we’ll confine the cats to one room, so he doesn’t chase them.

He goes back to the vet on Feb. 5, and the vet will decide then if he needs to continue the two medications he’ll be on for the next two weeks. (He’ll take a third medication for only five days.)

Poor Fox.
