On Friday on the way home from work I saw my first daffodils of the season. Sadly, I didn’t have my camera with me, nor did I actually KNOW any of the folks in whose yards I saw the flowers.
Today, Ed and I went back to the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens. There were daffodils EVERYWHERE at the garden. AND I had my camera. :) I found myself lying on the ground to get the shot above, but it was worth the mulch in my hair and the muddy knees.
I’m not so naive as to think the daffodils and a few blooming plants and trees means winter is over. It IS mid-February after all. We’ll have more sub-freezing weather for sure. But spring IS coming. Yippee!

YES! I saw a brief story on our local news about the start of Braves spring training. SQUEEE! (I love the start of spring training.)
Our neighbors daffodils are blooming, and today I noticed our forsythia is blooming. It made me so happy!
Springtime is the one time of year I would live in the Deep South. It IS lovely.
The azaleas are starting to bloom here, two weeks tops before Mobile is covered in them :)
These are lovely. My daffodils have sprouted and are shooting up but no blossoms yet. Two irises HAVE bloomed already.
Hugs and blessings,
Ah, don’t you just love daffodils? Spring is exciting for so many reasons, but especially for the photo ops!
Oh yay for daffodils! I just noticed some sprouts in front of my office, but they probably have another month before they bloom. Still, it’s a sure sign that spring is on it’s way!
Thank you! This gives me hope that Winter will end eventually…even though I had to drive on snowy, icy Ohio roads this morning!
