This is Jazz.
She is my friend Sarah’s dog.
Jazz has mitral valve disease. So does Toby. I wrote about the two of them in December 2007. Last February, Sarah asked me to photograph Jazz, because Jazz’s health was going downhill fairly fast and she wasn’t expected to live more than six months. MAYBE she’d live nine months if they were extremely lucky. This is my favorite photo of Jazz from that day.
Apparently, no one told Jazz she wasn’t supposed to live too much longer. That first photo was taken last Saturday (February 14). She’s quite sick. We all know that. But this dog CHASED Fox briefly.
Sarah says she continued to play when she got home. :)

Our trip to the dog park wasn’t intended to be a photo session. But I’m so glad I was able to get these photos. And Sarah was THRILLED. Mission accomplished.

Jazz mostly just acts kind of old. Other than that she does pretty well. Such a good dog.
