This photo doesn’t do her justice. But did anyone else think Megan Joy on American Idol looks like Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks?
This is Natalie.
I took a look at Megan Joy going to the commercial before she sang, and that’s the first thing I said.
I had NO idea she was so sick with the flu. She sang REALLY well, I thought. Good job, Natalie Megan Joy.

I WAS going to say, “Who the heck is Natalie Maines?” - but then you explained. So - never having been a fan of or even seen the Dixie Chicks, I’d have to say - your call.
not seeing it. and i’m sure she don’t sing like no natalie mains. without her the dixie chicks don’t happen. well, that’s kinda true in another way too. go figure!
NO! I do not think she looks like Natalie Maines. Thank goodness! (Me no like no Dixie Chicks!) Megan Joy is one of my favorites on the show. She needs a little more stage presence (and some dance moves that dont look fake and forced) but I’m hoping she’ll get comfortable in another week or two and really start to shine. I totally LOVED her version of Rockin’ Robin last week!!
RE: the pic comparison — Megan Joy looks pretty and happy and joyful. Natalie looks mean and angry and pi**ed off at the world.
You know, just because you don’t like the Dixie Chicks, doesn’t mean Natalie isn’t a beautiful person. Obviously you make of it what you want it to be, not as it actually is. Take a look on the Internet for her with her husband or children, or watch her have to wipe away tears after a performance of Not Ready to Make Nice, and one can see she isn’t “pi$$ed at the world”.
Though considering all the hatred and vicious attacks she suffered for simply stating the truth, one couldn’t blame her if she was.
Just for the record, friends, *I* love the Dixie Chicks. And Natalie Maines.
And Megan Joy.

I don’t really see it in the face, but the clothes and hair are similar.
